Love this place!
There was so much to love about this restaurant. We were in Rome staying near the Spanish Steps in the month of August. It was hot and unbearably crowded. After a few nights of dining with the masses in the usual areas of Trastevere and the Spanish Steps, we discovered Al Forno della Soffitta, in the opposite direction of the madness, tucked away in a quiet area. It was around a 20 minute walk from the Spanish Steps - tree lined streets with excellent shade past the U.S. Embassy.
The pizza did not disappoint. We tried the "award winning" Amatriciana and it was all that and more. Their pizzas are neopolitan style (my fave) - and they have many different options and sizes. Beyond the pizza, we enjoyed everything else we ate. Buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto and melon, calamari, fried shrimp, carbonara pasta (amazing), amatriciana pasta (amazing), and their tiramisu is excellent. Bottles of wine are very reasonably priced. We ended up eating there two nights in a row. Definitely call and make a reservation. Great service, highly recommend! -

Surprised by all the great reviews. We are in Rome for a bit and wanted some pizza. Yeah, it's a bit cliche, but when your doing the tourist thing.
Anyway, it was a long walk and by the time we got their we were tired. The service was good, very friendly, spoke enough English to help us order. Sadly, pizza was bland and flavorless. We ordered Chianti Classicos, again ok, but not great. Overall, it was just ok. Not great, just ok. -

Amazing experience!
Food was light and tasty - considering it was pasta, that's saying something! And service was on point.
We had the bolognese and shrimp and pasta. It was so incredibly good, I would consider it the best meal we had in Rome!
Don't forget the dessert! Normally we skip dessert but we had to try something since we are on vacation. We had the tiramisu and a cookie like wafer with a cream sauce. Both were light, but still sweet and left us completely satisfied with our meal.
Very happy and wish we could come back for another experience...maybe next trip to Rome! -

Happened upon this place as we walked. We've been to many restaurants in Italy, and are confident is saying this is a good one!! The staff is incredibly efficient and attentive. The food was very good, and the place is a nice traditional space. We'll return there next time....

Came here based on its stellar yelp reviews after visiting the Borghese park and museum. Easily walkable from there.
We had excellent service and the food was delicious! Though we didn't have the pizza, the server kindly had us a focaccia made which was so so good! Their pizza crust here is the best we had in Rome.
We went with the lamb and roasted potato special and the bolognese. Everything was delicious and I'll reiterate that the service here is really wonderful! Prices were also very reasonable and portions were large. Highly recommend!
